Israeli Finance Minister Calls for Action Against Iran
WANA (Feb 02) – Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to take action against Iran and its nuclear activities, warning that Israel’s stated objectives in the Gaza war are at risk.
Smotrich stressed to Netanyahu that achieving “total victory in Gaza, the destruction of Hamas, the return of all hostages, and strengthening security along all our borders” is in jeopardy.
Smotrich, in anti-Iran remarks, claimed that action must be taken in Syria and Lebanon, as well as against what he called “the head of the octopus” — referring to Iran — to eliminate the nuclear threat.
He also called for strengthening Israeli control and sovereignty over the West Bank.
